Crime is very bad in any society as it hinders economic growth and prosperity of people. It takes place in both rural and urban areas.
Recall that Kelechi Madu, a Nigerian man from Imo State was made the Minister of Justice in Alberta Canada. His appointment to the said office has been in recognition of his integrity and dedication to duties.
During the summer, he was able to travel round Alberta and visited rural areas to know the state of affairs in the country side. Politically, that move is not far from grassroot development and assurance of political dividends for urban and rural dwellers. During the said visit, Kelechi Madu was intimated on the rate of crime which affects the peaceful life of rural habitants.
According to him ‘’This summer, I travelled the province to listen to Albertans about the very real issue of rural crime. Thank you to those who came to share their often emotional stories of how rural crime has affected them and their families’’
In his speech, he also assured that the government in charge of the province will ensure the safety of all Albertans.
